Christmas is coming!
Of course you don't really have a clue yet what that means, but it's fun never the less. And you do seem to at least be catching some of the excitement, even if you don't really get it yet. We are certainly enjoying the Holiday season more having you with us. It brings some of the magic back to Christmas to be sharing it with you. It will be interesting to see what happens on Christmas morning when you realize that those colorful packages under that tree in the living room actually have new toys and treats in them!

Today we went together as a family to pick out a Christmas Tree. We needed to carry it in my truck, so we all managed to squeeze into the cab for the short drive to the tree lot. It was a tight fit with all of us together, but worth the effort. We finally found the perfect tree, not too wide and not too tall for our small livingroom. I'm sure it was all a little strange for you to see mommy and daddy carrying a tree into the house, but as usual you just go with the flow. So far, you seem to like the new addition, although we did have to move most of the ornaments to higher branches to keep you from constantly pulling them to the floor.
...And so you can CRAWL!!!
The day has finally arrived when you have decided that crawling isn't such a bad thing after all. We have been trying to get you to crawl for months, and while you have shown us a couple times recently that you can actually do it, it wasn't until yesterday and today that you really demonstrated your new abilities. It won't be long now until you are walking! We can't wait.

So we got 17 inches of snow! This is the most snow that we have ever seen in Asheville. It was pretty exciting, even with the power going out and losing our heat for a day. You seemed to enjoy it as well, at least looking at it from the safety of the porch or the backpack. I don't think you really knew what to do when we tried to set you down in it. One day you will love to play in snow like this, and we will enjoy joining you. For now, we'll all just enjoy the beautiful white Christmas that has fallen upon us.

Well of course Christmas was incredibly fun with you this year. It didn't take you long to figure out that all those packages under the tree had things in them....some of those things being New TOYS! It was exciting watching you discover that fact.
You seemed to like all your presents, but some of your favorites were your toy cell phone, your new Sesame Street DVDs, your toy laptop, and your Sesame Street ABC flashcards. We even had to take a break opening presents and give you a nap because you got so excited about your gifts that you couldn't even open them all at once. It's fun to think that Christmas will just keep getting more and more fun for years to come!
