11-2 A TRIP TO THE WNC NATURE CENTER
Today we hiked around at the WNC Nature Center. We've been there many times together but today was the first day that I actually brought the camera with us. We always have alot of fun when we go there, and you seem more and more interested in the animals each time. Today the Coyote in particular held your attention. It was pretty cool!
11-15 HIKING AT WARREN WILSON COLLEGE
It was a beautiful Fall day today, and we took advantage of it with a hike in the woods at Warren Wilson College. You had a great time playing in the pine needles and throwing pine cones around, not to mention looking at the tractors and farm animals. The pigs were especially interesting. All in all, it was a good day, a good family outing. It was nice to spend the day together as a family and have some fun. We look forward to the many family adventures we will have together.
11-24 TO 11-29 A BIG TRIP TO LONG ISLAND, NY FOR THANKSGIVING
We missed the Thanksgiving trip last year since you were so young, so we were determined to make it happen this year. While we were certainly looking forward to introducing you to all the relatives you had yet to meet, we were not excited about the long....long drive to get there. On the drive north we decided to stay the night in a hotel, which helped break the trip up some, but on the way home we just pushed on through, leaving Long Island at 3:30 a.m., and finally arriving on our doorstep 14 1/2 hours later.
All things considered, you were amazingly well behaved throughout the whole trip! Once again we were grateful and amazed at how wonderful you are, and at how much more fun life can be with you by our side.
AT HOME: SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE THINGS THESE DAYS
Not everyday is a great adventure. Many days we spend mostly at home, playing around the house and perhaps going for a walk or two around the neighborhood. I thought it important to document some of these times as well and not just the adventures we go on together. So here are some of your favorite things to do around the house these days.
- BOOKS: You have always loved looking at books with mommy and daddy, and sometimes just by yourself.
- THE BACKPACK: You love to go on walks, and when you see the backpack sitting around the house you get pretty excited about it. If I let you see it, I had better be prepared to take you out in it.
- YOUR DVD'S: So the TV addiction sets in pretty young these days. Even though we don't allow you to watch a lot of TV, you know what it is for sure, and often find your way to the TV room to look through your DVD collection and demand to watch one, usually one of your two favorites.
- THE ALPHABET: You now recognize the alphabet, which is pretty cool. We have been teaching you the letter sounds a little everyday, and you seem to really enjoy it. You also get pretty excited when we're out in the world and you spot letters somewhere. It amazing! That crazy alphabet is just everywhere you look!
