I moved to Delray Beach Florida at the beginning of 8th grade. As you can imagine it was quite a shock in every possible way. The kids were a lot tougher and the climate much warmer.

We could walk to the beach and I enjoyed some of the comforts of the modern world. I went to Atlantic high school, which happened to have very good classes in the arts. I became interested in painting and got in with the art geeks. I also enjoyed a variety of creative outlets and began to hang out with the deadheads but only made it to three Grateful Dead concerts before Jerry Garcia passed away.
