I lived in the town of Delray Beach. At the time it was rather pleasant. We had a large shaded yard and the ocean was about a mile’s walk away. Every time I have returned to South Florida I have been struck by the rampant development and consumerism, each time more extreme. Now it has been about six years since I have last visited and I am scared of what I might find should I go back again.
My sister Aniela, who continued to live in South Florida since we moved there in the late 80's, has finally decided to leave and to join us in Asheville. She moved here in May of 2009.
