Ireland is by no means cheap, and it was only through the generosity of our friends and family, who financially supported the trip as a wedding gift, that we were able to go. To all of you who contributed to this amazing experience, we thank you from the bottom our hearts.

Ireland

After our wedding in the summer of 2006, we spent 3 weeks traveling around the western part of Ireland. We stayed in Limerick for a few days to get acclimated, and then spent a week hiking around the Dingle Peninsula. We hiked anywhere from 12 to 16 miles a day, between bed and breakfast establishments. We had even arranged for our luggage to be delivered to our next destination for us, so all we had to carry was our day packs. It was amazing!

After the hike, we rented a car and spent several days in the city of Galway during the annual Galway Arts Festival. This was a lot of fun. There were exhibits and performances all over the city, with many happening freely in the streets. There is a section of the city where the streets are only for pedestrians, and this section was particularly enjoyable to explore.
